Product Description
Artistic expression in porcelain which shows candour, transparency and purity, synonymous with Grace.
Unique product because through fire has been transformed the whole doll, not only its body and the face but also the clothes and the hair into the most pure stone. With it has been transformed what is perishable into something inalterable: when the clothes come out of the oven are the same, but their chemical nature has been completely changed.
A special art object created with the most pure raw materials. Thanks to the fineness, the plasticity and the right cooking degree for this porcelain mixture, it has then been possible to produce thin foils until being able to dress each doll as if it were normal clothes.
It must be handled carefully because of the fineness of the details and the fragility of the material itself.
When cleaning it just to wash under running water taking care that the water pressure is not too strong and avoiding to wet the eventual wooden base.
The colours are rendered on the piece and made an integral part of it. So each item can easily be cleaned without any fear that changes colours.
Liú is part of the collection "Petipà".
Petipà is the name of a famous nine-teenth-century choreograph, who is mainly known because he worked together with Cajkovskij.
Petites pas means little steps in French. Both have the same pronounce. We called this collection in this way in order to employ this pun and to give homage to the great choreograph. The collection is like little dance steps made by rather improbable ballerinas.
As the merge between the purity of a ballerina and the purity of china is not a novelty, we added a third kind of purity: the children’s purity.
Our goal was not representing a dance step in its purity of style, as we thought it would be rather pathetic in a porcelain statuette.
True to tell, these ballerinas cannot dance. The further idea of purity is actually expressed by their inability to dance and by the fact that they are only naïve young girls dressed like ballerinas.
